Hello! I’m Ellie Seymour, a Brighton-based journalist, author and blogger covering stories on travel, culture and food and specialising in the USA. For me, travel is not about where you go, it’s about how you see the world. I’m happiest road-tripping and seeking out unusual and unique sights and places away from tourist crowds.

My credits include BBC Travel, Citizen Femme, The Guardian, The i Paper, The Independent, LoveEXPLORING, and National Geographic Traveller Food. I also write two travel websites: Ellie and Co, featuring stories on secret Brighton and other under-the-radar discoveries and places; and New York on my Mind about my favourite city on earth.

I developed my journalism skills on small B2B magazines then moved into consumer and book publishing. Before focusing full-time on travel writing, I worked freelance chief-subbing shifts at most of the big London publishing houses, including August Media, Emap, Hachette, Ink, IPC Media and Seven.
